Adam’s Test is a basic Scoliosis Screening the Scoliometer is a More Specific Measurement https://youtu.be/8RhGK3RsZ1k A Scoliometer is an instrument used to measure spinal curves without x-ray. Every 7 degrees on the Scoliometer translates to 20 degrees on the x-ray. The Scoliometer is excellent for Scoliosis Screenings or following up exams in between x-rays. Although Scoliometer is a good indication of spinal alignment it does not replace the specificity and accuracy of an x-ray. Scoliometer of 4 degrees translates to 12 degrees on x-ray and indicates need for a PA Scoliosis x-ray. 10-25 degrees curves are considered mild and offer the best chance for prevention and reduction of scoliosis. 25 to 40 degree curves are considered moderate. 14 degrees translates to a 40 degree Scoliosis which is severe. Larger curves are more challenging and may require a Scolibrace and surgical consultation. CLEAR Scoliosis method offers an alternative to medical bracing and surgery for mild, moderate and severe scoliosis in children and adults.
